A Brief Breakdown of Webflow Pricing

November 8, 2022

Pricing for Webflow may be a little tricky to navigate. With 12 various plans, choosing which is ideal for your project might be difficult.

Before we start, let’s clarify some common questions people tend to have. The difference between the Account plans and Site plans is that the Account plans allow you to develop your website, while Site plans allow you to link your website to a unique domain name.

In addition, Webflow is an unlimited free plan that allows you to build and deploy two websites on a webflow.io subdomain for free. You must purchase a Site plan membership to have a unique domain name. The free plan is available indefinitely and does not require a credit card.

Let’s dive in and break down the Webflow price for each plan.

Webflow Pricing Broken Down

Since we know the difference between the Account and Site plans, we can break them down further into the sub-plans they contain.

Webflow Account Plans

To start building with the Webflow platform, users need to have an account plan. Currently, three plans are offered for individual users, and two are aimed at teams. A free account plan is provided for anyone that wants to try out the platform.

All Webflow account plans come with the following features:

  • Customizable client billing
  • Global Swatches
  • Unlimited hosted projects
  • Quick access to more than 100 templates (both paid and free)
  • Custom fonts uploading
  • Flexbox
  • 3D objects editing
  • Reusable symbols
  • Codeless animations and interactions.

Let’s break it into Teams and Individual accounts to understand what each account offers.

Individual Account Plans

Individual account plans are best for freelance web designers or clients who want a website. Since you can start with a free version, it makes for an ideal way to showcase what the client can get before they connect it to a custom domain, which requires the purchase of a site plan.

The three individual accounts include the following:

  • Starter (Free)- This plan is perfect for users looking to poke around Webflow or want to create a Webflow website for a client without going all out. You must upgrade to the Lite plan to export code or transfer the website to a client.
  • Lite ($16/month on annual billing)– The Lite plan is for anyone looking to build websites, especially freelance developers.
  • Pro ($35/month on annual billing)– When you need something more than the Lite plan can offer, are always working on Webflow projects, or need to white label, the Pro plan is for you.

Team Account Plans

The individual accounts offer little in scale for agencies and businesses that deal with more than one or two projects at a time. That is where the two account plans for teams come in. They include:

  • Team ($35/month on annual billing)– The Team plan is for those running agencies or design studios with many people collaborating on projects.
  • Enterprise- When none of the Account Plans give you what you need, you can build a custom plan that fits your needs with the Enterprise plan.

The Webflow pricing in Enterprise plans is customized based on what the user wants.

Webflow Site Plans

Apart from connecting the Webflow site in your account to a custom domain name, the Site plans allow users to invite others for collaboration or build an eCommerce website. Without a plan, you will have to publish using Webflow’s domain.

NOTE: Users can copy their website code and export it to a different host.

Before diving into the site plans, it is worth noting the features they all get out of the box:

  • Password protection
  • Control over backups and versions
  • Scaling as required
  • Fast loading times
  • Advanced SEO tooling
  • SSL and built-in security features.

In the site plans, users get ecommerce and website plans.

Ecommerce Plans

In this category, all eCommerce plans include:

  • Integration with Mailchimp
  • Email customization
  • Integration with Google Shopping and Analytics
  • Integrated CMS
  • Automated tax calculation
  • Unique shopping cart and checkout pages
  • Payments via PayPal and Stripe
  • Custom shipping rates
  • Social media marketing integration.

Users can choose from the following three plans:

  • Standard- The standard plan is for new or small-scale eCommerce shops that make up to $50k in revenue per year.
  • Plus– The Plus plan targets stores generating annual sales of between $50k and $200k.
  • Advanced– The Advanced plan is for established ecommerce operations that generate revenues of more than $200k annually.

The Webflow cost is tiered to offer more features as you cater to all kinds of customers and budgets.

Website Plans

For those looking to set up websites that do not have any eCommerce going on, including blogs, news sites, business sites, forums, etc., Webflow offers four different plans. They include:

  • Basic– Users who need a simple website that doesn’t require eCommerce or CMS features can use the basic version of the plan.
  • Business– The Business plan caters to people with high-traffic websites that handle anywhere from 200k to 1,000,000 visitors a month.
  • CMS– The CMS plan is for those who run blogs and need to manage their content efficiently.
  • Enterprise– The Enterprise plan is what you go for when all the other Site plans fail to meet your needs to create a customized package.

Most users and small businesses can find all the features they need in the Basic or CMS offers. Businesses with a larger footprint, produce tons of content, and deal with heavy traffic will find the Business plan more useful.

Final Thoughts

Choosing a plan to help you optimize your use of Webflow is more than just fitting it to your budget. That is why it is critical to go beyond the price and investigate the specifics of each plan.

Now that you know how the pricing breaks down and what each plan is suited for, you can choose what works for your specific needs, covering users with limited needs to users with comprehensive requirements that need customization.
