Six Ways to Engage with Consumers

August 24, 2021

We all know how hard it is to engage with consumers nowadays. Several studies have shown that our market’s attention span is narrowing and trends do not seem to last long in Today’s economy.

As if competing with other businesses is not enough, we now have to think of better and more creative ways to sustain our audiences’ attention. Since we only have a few seconds window to impress them, we have to create something fun and different, something that would make them do a double-take, something that would surely WOW and impress them.

That being said, we have listed five different ways to better engage and connect with your consumers.

Generate Buzz

In order to get more engagement, your brand needs to be visible. People need to know who you are, what you do, and what products you offer. It is the most important aspect of every customer engagement campaign.

That being said, you need to generate buzz and start a conversation around your brand. There are different ways to accomplish this. You can host an event, hold a competition, create viral content, start a flash mob, and many more. No matter how crazy your idea gets, as long as it would generate buzz and not ruin your brand image, then you should definitely go for it!

Doing this would not only make your brand more visible, but it would also make the audience more curious about your brand. And as we all know, curiosity fuels conversation. With that, your marketing engagement campaign will be set up for success.

Add Personality to Your Brand

With a good branding strategy, you can add color and personality to your brand. Adding personality to your brand would surely make your products look friendlier, approachable, and even more trustworthy. It would also incite consumers’ curiosity, making them more willing to engage with your brand more.

Keep in mind that there are different ways to add color to your brand. Some marketers try to humanize their brand while others make their graphics and content more lively and appealing. So it’s your call. Since you know your brand and products from the inside out, you should decide which approach would work well for your brand. You can plan all this from scratch or you can even get help from a brand ambassador agency. It is up to you to decide.

Throw Events

Another way to stay in touch and maintain a healthy relationship with your customers is through events. Whether it is a soirée, dinner party, or even a trade show, hosting an event is the perfect excuse to socialize and meet more potential customers.

However, keep in mind that there are several types of events to choose from. So it is important to pick the right one that would match well with your business or products.

Also, based on our previous experience, corporate and big brand events tend to be tedious and boring the longer it goes. So we highly suggest you think of different creative ways to keep your audience active and engage all throughout the event. For instance, you can serve them exotic foods, have a live band in-between programs, hire artists or trade show models, hold a training session, and many more.

Host a Product Demo

It does not matter whether it is an in-store demos or a virtual presentation; you need to introduce the actual product you are selling to your customers. This would help you kill two birds with one stone. Because aside from getting new leads, you would also have the opportunity to turn them into buying customers.

However, keep in mind that product demos are not always necessary. It would ultimately depend on the product you are selling as well as the objective you set for your business. Since product demos might require too much time and resources, we highly suggest you look at your overall marketing strategy and decide whether an event like this is fitting or not.

But overall, it is still a perfect way to engage with your customers. You would not be only detailing your products with them, but you would also have the opportunity to talk to them and get to know them on a more personal level.

Embrace Social Media

More and more studies have proved that social media does in fact affect everyone’s attention span. So in order to remedy this as well as keep up with the changing times, why not just embrace and use it to our advantage instead. Doing this would open up a lot of possibilities and opportunities for us.

For instance, through the power of social media, you can now connect, update, and talk with your customers in real-time.  Apart from facilitating customer engagement, social media can also improve your overall business operation. Since social media lets you have two-way communication with your customers, you would be able to hear their feedback in real-time. With the help of this feedback, you can make some adjustments to your products, tweak your business operation, and even rework your overall marketing strategy.

Keep Your Lines Open

Apart from utilizing your social media, you should perfect your customer service as well. Keeping your lines open is not only a great PR but it would also give you helpful insights about your customers.

Customer service is the backbone of every customer experience. Your marketing campaign would not even hit the ground running if you have terrible customer service.

Remember that by definition, customer engagement is the emotional connection between your customer and your brand. And in order to create that perfect emotional connection, your customers need to have a great experience with your brand.

That being said, keeping your lines open and listening to your customers’ feedback is the cherry on top that makes every successful marketing campaign.
