Animas Marketing runs social media for some of Durango's best-known businesses and for the Durango Chamber of Commerce. We're looking for a friendly, reliable person to be our camera in town: show up to ribbon cuttings, Chamber mixers and local restaurants and breweries, shoot photos and short vertical videos on your phone, and upload them the same day. We do all the editing and posting; you capture the moments. We're filling one or two part-time spots.
Schedule
About 15–25 hours a month, scheduled a month ahead around your availability. Most outings are 1.5–3 hours: weekday lunchtime (11:30–1:30), weekday early evening (4:45–7:00), or a flexible weekday afternoon, plus an occasional Saturday. Tell us which windows work and we'll schedule inside them.
What you'll do
- Shoot photos and video at about 2–3 events or venue visits a week, following a simple shot list.
- Grab a quick quote from business owners at ribbon cuttings.
- Once a month, help film a short interview with a local business owner (we provide the mic kit).
- Upload everything to Google Drive within 2 hours and text us the highlights.
You'd be great at this if you
- are comfortable walking into a room, saying hi, and asking someone for a quick clip;
- are reliable and on time (ribbon cuttings start on the dot);
- have a recent phone that shoots 4K video, and a way to get around Durango;
- can do weekday noon events, weekday 5 pm events, or both.
No editing skills needed. We'll train you on the shot lists, the gimbal and the mic.
Pay and benefits
- $25/hour, paid every two weeks, for all time worked, including travel between sites and uploading.
- $40/month phone stipend, mileage between work sites at the IRS rate, and Colorado paid sick leave.
- Animas provides the gear (wireless mic, gimbal, tripod, light) and a branded shirt.
- No other benefits at this part-time level.
