El Moro Spirits & Tavern: Social, Reels, and a New Website
Daily short-form video, community management, and a purpose-built website for one of downtown Durango's most-visited dining and cocktail destinations.

Daily short-form video, community management, and a purpose-built website for one of downtown Durango's most-visited dining and cocktail destinations.
El Moro Spirits & Tavern occupies a historic building on Main Avenue in downtown Durango — the commercial spine of a city that draws visitors from across the Four Corners and beyond. It is an upscale-casual dining and cocktail destination: a full kitchen, a bar with a Level One Sommelier on staff, and a reputation built over years of local ownership and community presence. When tourists ask locals where to eat in Durango, El Moro is consistently in the answer. El Moro is one of two Peak Food & Beverage brands we run social media for. Steamworks Brewing Co., about a block away, is the other. The production model is shared — we film both brands with the same crew on an interlocking schedule — but the output is entirely distinct. Steamworks plays brewery humor and back-of-house culture. El Moro plays cocktails, kitchen craft, and the kind of atmospheric downtown Durango evening that photographs beautifully. The same production infrastructure serves two very different brand voices, and both benefit from the shared scale. Beyond social, El Moro presented an opportunity the brewery didn't: a full website redesign. The existing site was serviceable but didn't match the brand. When we proposed rebuilding it alongside the social program, the engagement grew to cover both channels — a relatively rare situation where one agency handles both the organic social presence and the digital home base.
The social program and the website redesign are related but separate problems, so we approached them separately. For social, the approach mirrors the Steamworks model: show up at the location, film the real thing — bartenders at work, the kitchen in motion, the dining room on a busy Friday, seasonal cocktail launches — and turn it into short-form video that feels native to Instagram and Facebook. The editing is done in-house. The voice is consistent: the dry, downtown-Durango confidence that El Moro's regulars recognize. We manage the entire post lifecycle — caption writing, scheduling, posting, and community response. For the website, the brief was to build something fast, mobile-first, and functionally complete for a restaurant customer's actual needs. That means: the menu is on the site, it is easy to find on a phone, and reservations or contact are one tap away. El Moro's reels do the awareness work — they bring people to the account, and some of those people go looking for the actual restaurant. The website is where that journey ends. A slow, confusing site is friction inserted between the interest the social program generates and the booked table the client wants. So we built a site that doesn't create that friction: hand-authored on our own component library, no page-builder overhead, fast on a 4G connection downtown, and styled to match the tavern's moody historic aesthetic.

New website for El Moro — mobile-first, fast, with full menu pages and direct reservation access.
El Moro's single highest-performing reel — 'The Chef's Final Touch,' filmed in our regular on-site production rotation — reached 108,210 likes and 772 comments. That is a single post. It is also not the goal. The goal is a body of work that runs every week and keeps a Durango restaurant in front of the audience that drives reservations. Across the Peak Food & Beverage partnership, El Moro and Steamworks together have earned 250K+ Instagram likes since 2022, with over 1,000 reels and short-form videos produced and more than 2,500 posts published and managed across the two accounts. The Facebook review base for both brands combined sits at 94% positive — 326 of 347 reviews — which reflects the community management discipline that treats response and voice consistency as load-bearing parts of the social program, not extras. The website completes the picture. The social program drives awareness and generates intent. The website converts that intent into reservations. A post that gets a viewer curious about El Moro's cocktail menu needs a place to send them that doesn't disappoint. See the full El Moro portfolio page to watch the actual reels and view the website work. What Durango dining and hospitality businesses ask us most.
It drives awareness and intent — the translation to a reservation depends on what happens after someone sees the content. A strong reel that links to a slow, hard-to-navigate website loses the reservation before it starts. That's one reason the El Moro engagement covers both social and the website: we can manage the full journey from Instagram discovery to booked table. For your business, the answer depends on your current reservation path and where the friction is.
Yes. The social video production and community management program runs independently of website work. Steamworks is a good example — we produce and manage their social without touching their website. The El Moro engagement grew to include a website rebuild because the opportunity was clear, not because it was required. If your existing site is doing its job, social alone is a complete engagement.
The format fits exceptionally well. Bartenders at work, seasonal menu launches, the atmosphere of a busy Friday night — these translate to short-form video naturally. The key is showing the real thing rather than staged promotional content. El Moro's best-performing reels are the ones that capture something specific: a cocktail being made, a kitchen moment, a Durango evening. Our Instagram and Facebook guide for local businesses has more on this.
Restaurant websites typically fall in our mid-range — our website design plans start at $1,800 one-time for a standard build, with more complex projects in the $2,800 to $4,200 range. The El Moro site included full menu architecture and mobile-first optimization, which puts it in the mid-to-upper tier. The right way to scope it is a conversation: see the website design service page or reach out directly.
